School/Clinicals-
So we have been pretty busy the last few months. I have been in nursing school, I am currently taking pediatrics, psych, and management. I have really like pysch. Crazy people are so interesting. The last month I did my clinicals for pysch- boy was that interesting. I was assigned to a unit that all of the patients have criminal records-anything you can imagine they have done it-drugs, rape, and even murder. Overall I was quite comfortable there- maybe I am crazy myself who knows. One of the guys there- lets call him Sam- is CRAZY. So this guy, he talks to god-and sees god all day long- In fact one of the days I was there he thought I was God. He got down on his knees with his hands up basically worshiping me. (Sometimes it would be nice if Brandon would worship me, O-wait he does j/k). The next time I was there I had a very intersting conversation with the guy- it was about 45 min long and I was emotionally drained after that. He was going on and on about the "end of the creation" and how we are all "follicles of crap with the permission to be good or bad and we had all chosen to be bad" he went on and on about a dungeon- I was so lost- and then he asked me a question, which I guess I answered correctly- he was "amazed" as he thought I was just a "stupid blonde". Oh and by the way he thought he was a doctor/phyciatrist who lived there to help the other patients, not a patient himself. Another great experience was with Fred (not his real name) the first few times I talked to him he was quite nice and had some fascinating stories- it wasnt until he started talking about my boots that he scared the heck out of me. So we had to dress up and I was wearing some tall boots. He began telling me how he really liked my boots. That he had once told him wife that he liked that style of boots and that one day when he came home for work she was wearing boots and "very short shorts" as he was telling me this story, I swear he was undressing me with he freaky eyes. Lets just say I was extremely glad that Jared, another student interuppted him and saved me. Lets just say it was quite an experience. If it weren't for the staff I might even think of working there- but the staff was possibly worse than the actual patients. I just started my pediatric clinicals, which are pointless. I felt like it was a complete waste of time. The kids there were precious but I didn't learn a dang thing. O-wait do we ever.
Running update-
Other than school I have been working and running. Brandon and I ran Painters half marathon and Hurricane 5 miler. Suprisingly I did well, well what I feel is well. I ran Painters in 1hr 51min and Hurricane in 39.44min. I was glad. I felt pretty good during these races, which is great for me as I had a really bad racing year last year. Brandon did awesome he ran Painters in 1hr 34min and Hurricane in 36.33min. We both took second overall in our age groups. Its nice to run some of these small races- that we can actually place in. Plus its a semi-trail run which is always a plus for me. We are going to be running the CanyonLands half marathon this weekend. Im not expecting much, actually I am just hoping that it is warm. I am so incredibly sick of running in cold weather. Its so much nicer to run in shorts and a tank top.
Zoobie Land
So BYU is kicking Brandon's trash. The poor thing has been worked to the bone the last few months. So Im finding out that really I am a single-married woman. The guy is gone all of the time- its either work or school. We cant wait until I graduate so that he will be able to just focus on his schooling. Right now its just financially impossible. Overall he is doing well- he is learning to "jump through hoops" as I always put it. I think he really likes what he is learning, but just wishes he had more time to really learn it. He sure is a smartie pants and I know he will make it. Just a few more years Babe, there is light at the end. I think we are finally starting to see it.
